Need:

CBA’s previous Legal Library Document Management System was a Microsoft Word Add-On (available on only Windows PCs) that required users to be licensed by CBA in a separate system in order for document templates to be downloaded. This system was labor-intensive to manage, and was prone to failure due to new releases of Microsoft Office and minor differences between users’ systems. They also had a separate subscription to a web-based document editing package, which most disliked. They had a need for a new web-based Legal Library solution that would include automatic real estate office and agent updates from Rapattoni, and eliminate the need for multiple systems. The system would need to be able to handle a high volume of simultaneous users with configurable permissions for everyone.

Solution:

Complete design and construction of a new system.

Technologies used:

ASP.Net MVC framework, Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS) using Responsive Design

Log in screen that identifies the user as a CBA member or approved external user.

Transactions module provides a robust search option.

Transaction Detail allows users (with permissions) to edit data, add, edit, give permissions, and view Transaction Users, Document Users, Documents, and Attachments. Access to each section is tied to the user’s permission level.

User Document Summary displays the user’s details and a list of documents that they have permission to.

Document Detail lists the Document Users who have permissions, Transaction Users and a preview of the specific document. Based upon the user’s permissions the document can also be edited, printed, or filled in.

View and edit available templates so that everyone is using the most recent version.
